  • Engagement Gap (30% weight): Difference between your engagement rate and your opponent’s, normalized to a -1 to 1 scale. Higher engagement correlates to more consistent performance.
  • Skill Gap (70% weight): Uses an ELO-style formula where a 400-point skill difference gives a 2:1 win rate advantage. This is the standard for most competitive gaming ranking systems.
  • RNG Adjustment: Higher RNG values pull the final probability closer to 50%, as random factors reduce the impact of skill and engagement.

Confidence intervals are tighter for longer match formats (best of 7 has a ±1.5% margin, single match has ±5%) because more matches reduce random variance.

Engagement rates vary by game type: for tabletop games, use turn time consistency or rule knowledge as your engagement metric. For MMOs, use raid attendance or DPS consistency.
